In 2014, Sandra Hanns embarked on a mission to unveil the hidden environmental impact of the Fashion Industry. Thus, San Francisco Sustainable Fashion Week International was born, fueled by a passion for raising consumer awareness about sustainable fashion.
As pioneers in the San Francisco Bay Area, we’ve dedicated ourselves to educating the community, shedding light on the eco-conscious practices within the fashion realm. Collaborating with esteemed partners such as colleges, the San Francisco Department of the Environment, and a dedicated volunteer base, we’ve paved the way for a decade of impactful work.
Even in the face of the challenges posed by COVID-19, our commitment to making a difference in the world has remained unwavering. Over the past 10 years, we’ve successfully achieved our mission of expanding awareness about the fashion industry’s contribution to the Climate Crisis. From San Francisco to the world, we brought conversations uniting professionals, individuals and government officials for a collective effort to inform the public at large about the toxicity the conventional garment industry sell to us while destroying the environment.
As we reflect on our journey, we’re grateful for the growing community of individuals and organizations that joined the cause.
